“I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than trees." ~Henry David Thoreau
After mountain biking at the YMCA of the Rockies on Thursday, we hung out in Estes Park and had some bison burgers and fried green beans at Ed’s Cantina (one of our favs in Estes). Then decided to hit the trails in the Rocky Mountain National Park!
It’s been four years since we’ve hiked up to Emerald Lake, and wow, it was just as amazing as we remembered it! Just with much less snow since we are here in July instead of early June.

I know this is usually a light and fluffy blog, but tomorrow I have the opportunity to support a cause I care deeply about. While we are in Colorado at our conference, our organization is sponsoring a 5K benefiting #arunaproject an organization dedicated to freeing and sustaining previously enslaved women from the red light district in India.
Human trafficking and modern day slavery are issues close to my heart. So tomorrow I will run for Meena, a woman in India currently trapped in sex slavery, and I will wear her name on my runners bib.
If you are interested in learning more about this issue and how you can help, I encourage you to visit Aruna’s website at www.arunaproject.com and check out their products, including head bands (like the one I will be sporting tomorrow) and bags, backpacks, etc. Each has the names of the bags’ creators sown inside. And every product is fair trade certified!! ❤️ I haven’t run a race since the 3K at Disney’s Yacht Club a few months back so wish me luck!
