I often say “We are the reflection of what we attract” We in some way hold the reflection of every person in our lives. When something or someone brings us happiness and joy that is a part within us. When something or someone brings us pain and suffering that is also a reflection of us. Now I know there ARE some circumstances where we are truly victimized. Where we hold no choice or control of what is done to us. I believe those are the moments of ultimate evil being used to extinguish our light. Yet many moments we do have control over who and what we choose to participate in. For example I had a very abusive ex once when he would get angry he would hold me up to the wall by my neck as I struggled to breath. For a long time I believed that he was the abuser and he was dark, he had that in him…of course he did…but he was a reflection of the abuse I was doing to myself. I was abusing myself everyday in my own anger, substance addiction, being a workaholic, and starving myself. I was abusing me so I reflected to attract what I was. Another example is when I would give spiritual guidance to others for free and get hurt when they would not reciprocate any thanks, that was my own issue of thinking I could show people the magic in themselves to be seen...something I craved early in my spiritual journey.
Many times we blame others for what happens to us and at times we do not see that the responsibility of our reflection attracts positive and negative. How we handle our life, our healing, our integrity is a direct reflection. It is our responsibility to learn from these lessons and break cycles that are negative. If you are constantly being hurt in a relationship then what is it in you that is attracting that cycle to continue? On the other side of things when you feel that complete happiness and joy with a person, honor that part of you focus on creating more of those connections. It is important in growth to truly reflect on our responsibility of what we bring into our lives, abundance, health, relationships all have a direct reflection of what we hold in ourselves.
