Busting the self-care myth:
When you hear the word self-care, do you automatically think of spas, mani/pedis, and lounging in pjs all day?
Or do you automatically think of healthy eating and exercise?
Neither of these are wrong, but they’re not right either. Because self-care is not one particular act, it’s the answer to this question:
What do I need?
Sometimes the answer is to workout. Sometimes working out is the worst thing you could do (pushes you over the edge mentally, or you tweaked a muscled, etc). Sometimes a mani-pedi will make you feel better. And sometimes you need to suck it up and stop procrastinating making that doctors appointment.
And any combination of those things.
It’s being your own loving, protective caretaker with your own best interest ultimately in mind.
What does self-care look like for you today?
