Hi Lads, Just a quick one to get you all motivated on this fine Monday 👌 If you are not achieving one of the below Golden Rules, this week is an opportunity to choose just one and work on it until it becomes second nature. 1️⃣When it comes to nutrition for fat loss, get in a calorie deficit and follow the 80/20% rule. 2️⃣Exercise 3x45 mins per week minimum. 3️⃣Aim for 70k steps per week. (Track your steps as an addition to exercise) The average person burns 500 Kcals for every 10k steps taken. What’s better, treadmill or outdoor runs? My answer depends on your goals. For me, I use the treadmill more often than not for running. It’s easier on the knees, ankles and hips, and also keeps me in the house which is sometimes a necessity because I work from home and have 2 young kids. Treadmills have a lot of versatility in the type of training you can do and you don’t have to worry about getting hit by cars, so that’s a plus BUT...if you’re training for a race, you absolutely have to do your running outdoors. While treadmill running has its place, it’s not a substitute for outdoor running if you need to log miles for a road race. It is not the same. It’s far easier to propel your body and go longer distances on a treadmill than it is to run outside. If you do all your race training on a treadmill, you’ll likely gas out before finishing on race day. Thoughts? I can’t tell you the number of clients I’ve had over the years who say something like “exercise doesn’t work for me” or “this meal plan isn’t effective”. In a small minority of cases, there are circumstances that certain things may not work well, but for the most part it comes down to looking at 3 main points. How consistent have you been? If you’re training plan requires 5 days a week of focused gym time, have you been doing that consistently for the long term? Or have you been missing days here and there. Are you being patient? Don’t set yourself up for disappointment. If you expect to be in drastically better shape 2 weeks into a program, you’ll be in for disappointment. Progress takes time. Are you doing the things? Are you measuring food and counting macros? Are you exercising at the appropriate, prescribed intensities?. Finished a night shift and tried these fit bowls. I preferred the spicy one but cool fact they are in recyclable cardboard! We drove out quickly to see nanny and poppy after the boys went for a hair cut. Thanks Randy!!! Daddy also brought his kilt to go get dry cleaned for this weekend coming up. Drive home was nice. Napped off and on through the day. Day 20/100 finished aka phase 1 over! Today was nice stretching and refocusing the mind. Daily weigh in - My average weight for the week before this morning was around 11st 1 lb, so up around 6 Ibs today😮. - That is after a day of. - ✈️ Flying to and back from Switzerland. 🥞 Big Breakfast including Pancakes😋 🍕 Dominos pizza for dinner - I know from the travelling I’ll be holding a lot of water so expect the weigh to drop naturally over the next couple of days. - Your going to have days like this so I don’t stress about them. I understand I haven’t really put on 6 lbs on 1 day. - Plus the scales are only one way to measure. - Back to usual routine today👍

Staying on track with your eating can be very challenging, especially as we enter a weekend. Most people tend to let the reigns up a little, go out for drinks and dinner and lots of other stuff they don’t during the week. While we want to treat ourselves occasionally, we don’t want to let 2 days totally derail our progress. Here’s how to stay the course. Ask yourself before you consume anything if it is in line with your health goals. If it isn’t, think twice about eating it. Don’t bring likely binge foods into your home. If they’re not in your cabinets, you can’t eat them Before eating, think about whether you’re actually hungry, or just craving a certain food If you have to have something to hold you over, try eating some veggies, healthy fats like avocado, or something with protein. These things can keep you more full without hurting your progress. Drink water or black coffee. They can make you feel more full and caffeine can suppress appetite for a short time. Look at restaurant menus before you go out. Make a plan to enjoy yourself but also keep things within reason. Questions? Don’t compare your progress with that of others. We all need our own time, to travel our own distances. 💯 I’m guilty of it too. I always have been. I remember buying my first protein powder. 🤨 Thinking how fast it was going to make me just as ripped up as the model on the label. 🤣 Never happened. 😓 Last night I had a conversation with a friend. He’s stuck. He’s been working out for a few months and hasn’t seen the drastic results he was expecting. 💪🏻 It was a great conversation for the both of us. He sees his fitness journey from his perspective. I was able share with him, my perspective. 🙏🏻 Realize it’s your journey and no one else’s. Understand you were the one to make the choice to start it, while others might still be home on the couch. ✊🏻 Just like our journey from kindergarten to college, we learn more and we apply more. 🙌🏻 Stay in your lane, study yourself, learn about yourself. Pre-gym warm up @run this morning was a bit different to normal, over 5km and reverse route from the one I usually take with no corner cutting. Felt challenging as a few of the longer downhills became uphills. Nice. Dench #shoulderpump from today’s workout including some overhead barbell press / push press, dumbbell press, kettlebell halos, lateral and frontal raises etc. Hitting the shoulders from most angles and switching up progressive overload (timing, weight, reps) to keep things fresh. Feeling it today! Oh wait... and I did a 5k run before (which I’ll post next!) lol. Bring on Friday and the weekend ahead.
